From healthcare to environmental protection, AI is proven to be an effective tool for resolving complicated issues and improving people’s lives. The following examples demonstrate how AI is positively impacting many businesses.
Improving Cancer Treatment
SimBioSys, an Illinois-based firm, has created TumorSight Viz. This method creates 3D pictures of breast tissue using MRI scans, allowing for detailed views of tumors and their surroundings. These 3D models assist surgeons in planning and carrying out breast cancer procedures more successfully, eventually improving patient outcomes.
Faster and More Environmentally Friendly Cancer Research
Every year, the Wellcome Sanger Institute, a collaborator on the Human Genome Project, investigates thousands of cancer genomes. The institution can examine these genomes considerably quicker and with less energy because to NVIDIA’s powerful computational and software capabilities. This not only accelerates research, but also minimizes the environmental effect of scientific investigations.
Cleaning Up the Oceans
Clearbot, an AI-powered watercraft developed by University of Hong Kong alumni, is intended to clean up waterways. Clearbot uses NVIDIA’s Jetson platform to gather debris from the ocean autonomously. It is already having an impact in countries like Hong Kong and India by keeping water clean in key tourist locations.
Making Recycling More Efficient
Greyparrot, a UK-based firm, has created an AI gadget known as the Greyparrot Analyzer. This system sorts waste items on conveyor belts at a recycling company using cameras and machine learning. By more properly recognizing different forms of garbage, recycling plants may run more efficiently and recycle more effectively.
AI Advancements in Africa
NVIDIA has teamed with the Deep Learning Institute to launch a new AI cluster in Tunisia. This endeavor is part of a larger push to train 100,000 developers across Africa. The hub offers training, technology, and networking opportunities to help the continent build its AI-driven solutions.
