To get started, you’ll need to record a video of yourself. Zoom’s AI will utilize this recording to create a digital avatar that resembles your appearance and speech. After that, you may compose your message and have your AI avatar recite it for you. This capability will be offered exclusively through Zoom’s “Clips” tool, which allows users to send quick video updates to colleagues.
Zoom is aware of concerns about the abuse of AI technologies, particularly deepfakes, and is taking steps. According to Smita Hashim, Zoom’s chief product officer, the firm is taking these dangers seriously by employing advanced verification procedures, watermarking, and stringent standards to govern the usage of AI avatars.
The capability will be accessible beginning early next year as part of Zoom’s new “AI Companion” add-on, which costs an extra $12 per month. However, if you currently have a paid Zoom account but do not choose the add-on, you will still have access to pre-made AI avatars and voices.
